I’m a copywriter who takes your ideas, your dreams, your plans for your organisation and weaves them into content that works like a charm on the people you want to reach.

I’m not really a magical goblin but I can absolutely spin gold from straw. You should SEE some of the messy copy I’ve been entrusted with over the years. Mixed messages, waffly writing, inaccessible documents … begone!

I have a first-class English degree from the University of Leeds, plus twenty years’ professional writing experience. You’re in excellent hands.

I write for fun, as well as for work. In 2010 I won a national travel-writing competition and since then I’ve taken on occasional freelance commissions. I’m pleased to have bylines in the Independent, National Geographic and BBC Countryfile magazine, among other titles. I’ve published two editions of Slow Travel: Shropshire for Bradt Travel Guides, and the third is coming out this autumn. You can read my personal work here.

I’m lucky to have two young sons, so I don’t have as much time to give back to the world as I hope one day to do. However, I am a volunteer coach for Read Easy UK, working one-to-one with adults to boost their literacy skills. It’s a joy to be able to help.
